Under Hart’s vision, the city of Grand Prairie attracted one restaurant to build on city-owned land, built six restaurant spaces and partnered with private sector to operate in its EpicCentral destination area.
Chicken N Pickle, 2965 S. Highway 161, built on city land in a public-private joint venture, is an indoor/outdoor entertainment complex that includes a casual restaurant and sports bar that boasts indoor/outdoor pickleball courts, yard games, and a rooftop bar.
Loop 9 BBQ, 2951 S. State Highway 161, is operated by Larry Lavine, the founder of Chili’s. Featuring prime brisket smoked to perfection, the best ribs you’ve ever tasted, Texas sausages, and so much more, every item on the menu is prepared from scratch with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and truly authentic Texas flavors.
The Finch Raw Bar and Grill, 2955 S. State Highway 161, operated by Milkshake Concepts, offers an intersection of fun and fine dining. Suitable for relaxed encounters and formal engagements, it’s a stylish staple for every taste, an oasis of culinary craft and casual sophistication.
Vidorra Cocina de Mexico, 2959 S. Highway 161, operated by Milkshake Concepts, is a modern Mexican restaurant celebrating culture through authentic dishes, bold cocktails, and a highly energized environment. The restaurant offers bold and exciting Mexican flavors, a unique cocktail program, lively social experience and rooftop patio.
Poach’d, a breakfast and brunch restaurant by Milkshake Concepts, plans to open early
2024.
Serious Eats Pizza, Sliders and Shakes will offer a grab-and-go food option in EpicCentral adjacent to the JamBox and concert lawn and is expected to open in early 2024.
Hart worked with entrepreneurs, developers and financiers to create these entertainment projects for Grand Prairie.
Bolder Adventure Park, 2324 W. Warrior Trail, is a public-private venture using city land. The privately financed and built indoor family entertainment center features more than 66,000 square feet of rock climbing, zip lines, via Ferrata, ropes courses, tubing slides, synthetic ice skating, adventure nets, an arcade with more than 50 games, and more under a pneumatic dome structure with ceiling heights of 75 feet.
Minor League Ball Park/Major League Cricket, 1600 Lone Star Parkway. After being approached by private investors, Hart led the evaluation of the feasibility of a minor league baseball stadium and team in Grand Prairie. Using a voter-approved ¼ cent sales tax, he managed architects and contractors to design and build a world-class minor league stadium for the Grand Prairie AirHogs, owned and operated by a private investor. After several successful years, the team sunset and Hart facilitated a contract for private sector to renovate the stadium into a cricket field for the new Texas Super Kings cricket team, one of six teams in Major League Cricket USA.
Fee-Based Skate Park, 1002 Lone Star Parkway. Using ¼ cent sales tax dollars approved by voters for park improvements, Hart created the city’s first skate park where skateboarders and BMX bikers could ride safely on proven tracks. The park is managed by Action Park Alliance. APA is the first and only skatepark management company in the USA that partners with municipalities to create unique public-private partnerships. They operate four public skateparks across the country with annual attendance of more than 1 million.
6,350-seat Indoor Music Venue, 1001 Texas Trust Way. Under an agreement fostered by Hart, a private developer built the 6,350-seat theatre at a cost of $63 million, then sold the venue to the city for $15 million for operating capital. The city now contracts with the internationally renowned AEG to operate and manage the theatre. Featuring comfortable seating, elite luxury suites, and upscale catering, Texas Trust CU Theatre sets a new standard in the concert and theatrical touring industry.
